[21:31] * Illyana keeps her arms folded, staring down. It's impossibly to tell
what she may be thinking.
[21:31] <Chamelaeon> You hear Wintergreen from the cockpit. "We've been cleared
to land, hey. Minute or two we'll be down." Lisa nods in response and looks
around at the team. 
[21:31] * Charlie still has his helmet on. He may or may not be asleep. You
can't tell, but he's been motionless for at least the past hour.
[21:34] * Chako stirs slightly, and mutters, "'Bout time."
[21:34] <Chamelaeon> "Great. Now get this - Red Atlanta's the main base of
SIG-ASP. They want you close, 'cause you'll be working pretty much under their
orders from now on. Which means you keep it a secret."
[21:36] <Chamelaeon> "The SIG-ASP base is thirty sublevels of stuff under the
main Red Atlanta base. Entrance of it's through a broom closet - fucking cliche,
innit? Orders are you tell nobody outside that door about what you do. Far as
anyone knows, you're a training team for recruits."
[21:37] * Tim chuckles at the broom closey bit.
[21:38] * Charlie is not actually asleep, as he nods in acknowledgement to that.
[21:38] * Chako says, "I can't wait. At least they won't bug us when we're not
down there, if it's so secret."
[21:40] <Chamelaeon> "As far as I know, you won't be around enough to have to
fake the training bit. If you do, follow Isis' lead." She smirks at Isis. "They
rehired the old trainer back once he came back from Ganymede."
[21:41] * Isis raises an eyebrow, not that it's visible. "You can't be serious.
He's not fit to train gradeschoolers to stand in line quietly."
[21:43] <Chamelaeon> "Don't look at me. I'm not in fucking HR. All I know is
he's back. And I would be wary - the official company stance on your 'adventure'
is that you all fucked up bad and got trapped."
[21:44] * Charlie looks at Isis, "Who is this guy?"
[21:45] * Chako growls, "Aw, fucking hell. Hope they remember to clear that up
later."
[21:45] <Chamelaeon> Wintergreen curses. "Fucking VIPs. Sory about the holdup,
folks, we're stuck in a holding pattern. Top brass comin' in."
[21:45] <Tim> Swell.
[21:46] * Illyana taps her foot.
[21:46] * Isis sighs and rubs her temples. "Marco 'Slipstream' Bennetson. My
predecessor in Red Atlanta."

[21:49] * Chako punches into her own hand lightly.
[21:50] <Tim> Commander? Got a message from R&D. Looks like we'll be turning out
suits in to Maintenance for hardware and firmware upgrades when we get there. 
[21:51] * Isis raises an eyebrow. "More 'upgrades'?"
[21:51] <Illyana> Lovely.
[21:51] <Isis> ( *gets "SuitAware" ready for download* )
[21:51] <Chamelaeon> Lisa looks over at the cockpit. "Fuck. Well, whatever." She
looks back. "Today's agenda's to get moved in, and get set up for ..." She
blinks. "The hell? That's not scheduled."

[21:51] * Isis sighs. "What was the old term? 'Spyware'."
[21:52] <Tim> Yup. Viddeo for our intersuit comms, removable hands, and, uh,
something else. Looks like they didn't feel like specifying the last bit.

[21:53] <Chamelaeon> "The upgrades. Wasn't on my schedule at all."
[21:54] * Chako mutters incoherently.
[21:54] <Tim> It's, uhm... one sec. Priority code "WTF4097314159." I assume you
know better than I what that's supposed to mean.

[21:56] <Chamelaeon> Lisa blinks. "That's an R&D priority two code. Fuck, guess
we don't leave till tomorrow. Take the time to get settled in, then."

barrack quarters. Which means two to a room, one left over."

[22:03] * Isis shakes her head. "I live here. I'll stay at home."
[22:04] * Chako eyes Illyana. "Guess that makes the division easy."
[22:05] <Tim> Barrack quarters. Swell.
[22:09] * Illyana looks over to Chako. "Actually, Kommander, I haf my own place
to stay as vell.
[22:10] <Chamelaeon> Lisa shakes her head now. "No good, Illyana. I need you
close. Isis can handle herself, to a point, but if Hippies show up at your house
you're fucked."
[22:10] * Illyana chuckles. "If they vant to get me, it von't be difficult."
[22:11] <Charlie> Well, s'pose we'd better put our stuff up. Which room am I in?
[22:11] <Chamelaeon> Doesn't matter. I'll feel better if you're here where we
can keep an eye on you. 
[22:11] * Illyana shrugs. "So be it."
[22:13] <Isis> I don't know if I should be flattered or offended.
[22:13] <Chamelaeon> "Don't worry. Won't be much downtime. I suspect SIG-ASP's
gonna run you ragged. Europa Team's the first team they've ever got to play
with."

[22:13] * Chako says, "Go with flattered, and damn. Buncha kids."
[22:14] <Chamelaeon> "Rooms are in C block, 409 and 407. You work it out - I've
got paperwork to deal with." She sashays down the ramp and out the hangar door.
You can hear Wintergreen whistle softly from the cockpit.

Maintenance is?"

[22:19] * Charlie removes his helmet. "I'm don't like the sound of these
upgrades, but what can ya do, eh?"
[22:19] <Chamelaeon> Wintergreen nods. "That'll do ya. I'd head up there with ya
for parts, but they kinda hate me ever since they lost that dropship repair race
to me."
[22:20] * Tim shrugs. "Well, I might ask into it some. Shouldn't be anything
bad."

changed without them knowing?

us play cards on long trips.
[22:21] <Isis> The idea of our erstwhile benefactors implanting a 'failsafe'
does not thrill me.
[22:22] * Tim takes off his helmet and smirks. "No, but that won't be needed."
[22:22] * Charlie picks up his stuff. "I'm ready. So, where we headed?"
[22:22] <Tim> Well, not in the time we have anyway. With a few days I could rig
something, but...
[22:23] <Tim> Maintenance.
[22:23] <Isis> We'd best 'get it over with', then.
[22:23] * Tim punches the code into the guide-system.
[22:23] <Tim> Sounds like a plan tome.
[22:23] <Isis> ( I have a meeting at 9am tomorrow, BTW. I can't stay up too
terrible late. My job may be on the line. )
[22:23] <Chamelaeon> Wintergreen grins. "Right. Mind moving off the ship so I
can get my fix on?"
[22:24] <Chamelaeon> (Not much longer. I can always keep going for those who
can/want to stay.)
[22:24] * Chako nods. "Yeah. Sooner we drop these things off, the sooner we can
have them to bug the geeks with."
[22:24] * Illyana stands up and moves off the ship.

[22:24] * Chako grins behind her facemask as she walks down the plank.
[22:25] * Tim gets off the ship! And then goes and punches the code into the
guide-system, wherever it may be.
[22:25] * Isis walks off the ship. Hopefully not over a plank as she's wearing
many many kilos of metal.

[22:27] <Chamelaeon> <<You exit through the hangar door. The hallways are done
very oddly - every few inches on the wall, there's a black strip. This continues
over the floor and ceiling. The rest of the decor is done in the standard "pale
blue white yellow" ATC hallway decor. There's a small numberpad next to the
doorlock - it looks separate. It's also labeled "GUIDE SYSTEM" in nice bold
soothing letters for the Management types.>>
[22:29] <Chamelaeon> <<When Tim punches in the code, one of the strips glows
blue for a second, and then sends a little light from the door down the path at
a fast clip. A second later, it repeats.>>

There's several burly men working over a dropship, and a young girl standing in
front of a desk poring over paperwork. She glances up at you and then back
down.>> "Europa Team? Get moving and unsuit, we don't got all day."
[22:37] <Charlie> ( I didn't bother to say anything 'cause I didn't think it'd
matter. I figured everyone would assume I had followed. This isn't Rollmaster,
after all. )
[22:37] <Chamelaeon> (And you should thank every god there is that it is not.)
[22:37] <Isis> ( *clubs Charlie with Hackmaster +12* )
[22:39] * Charlie hmpfs, and unsuits.
[22:39] * Tim would get sparkly-eyed if he had a heavier anime influence. As it
is, he just unsuits.
[22:39] * Chako moves out of the walkway and unsuits from her garish suit. She's
wearing her equally garish jumpsuit.
[22:41] <Chamelaeon> The girl looks up again and motions to a guy who is
obviously not in Maintenance to assist Illy. She looks back down and then back
up again as she notices Tim. "Hey, wait a minnit!"
[22:41] <Charlie> Might as well get it overwith.. *turns to the girl* You need
anything else from us?
[22:42] <Isis> ( *DIES* I pasted something from here to Kristen, who misread
Chako's name as "Charo". What a fun image! )
[22:42] <Chako> (Si?)
[22:42] * Illyana unsuits, and is assisted into her wheelchair by the
non-Maintenance guy.
[22:42] * Tim blinks and looks at the girl. "Yeah?"
[22:43] * Isis desuits. She's wearing black. Her hair is black. Her eyes are
black. The scabbard of the sword she has managed to hide in the armor is black.
The hilt is black. Her shoes are black. She is, however, not wearing a neon sign
that flashes "NINJA!".
[22:43] <Chamelaeon> She walks over to Tim and stares in his face for a second.
Then she DOES get sparkly-eyed. "Hey, you're CUTE! And I know that suit, too!
You're Tim! THE Tim!" She's practically bouncing.
[22:44] <Chako> (Hah. c.c;)
[22:45] * Illyana raises an eyebrow.
[22:45] <Chamelaeon> (By the way, Isis? That sign's one of the upgrades!)
[22:45] <Isis> ( I hate you. )

[22:46] * Tim blinks. "'THE Tim?'"
[22:46] * Isis raises an eyebrow, visibly for the first time this episode. "You
appear to be famous."
[22:47] <Chamelaeon> "Yeah! THE Tim! Every Maintenance worker this side of MARS
has heard of you! You rock!" She latches onto Tim's arm with a deathgrip.
[22:47] * Chako sneers slightly. "Coulda fooled me." She eyes the girl.
[22:47] * Tim is latched onto. He seems confused. "Uhm... nice to meet you?"
[22:48] <Illyana> ( "Oh, I'm sorry. I meant the OTHER Tim." )
[22:48] * Isis blinks. "This side? Are there colonies on the other side of
Mars?"
[22:48] <Tim> ( "'THE Tim'? You mean there aren't more of me?" )
[22:49] <Charlie> heh.. So, What'd you do, Tim?
[22:49] <Chamelaeon> The girl squeals as Tim talks to her. "Yeah! Colonies all
over! And they just don't know cause word spreads slowly! Oh, right! I'm
Bethany!" She grins manically.
[22:50] <Illyana> ( After the Mr. T pact of 2012, all names beginning with the
letter T were banned. No wonder you're famous :P )

TALKED TO ME!" She squirms uncomfortably (or possibly rather comfortably)
against Tim.

seem to mind so much.

[22:56] * Chako chuckles and says, "A man after my own heart. Reminds me of a

suits, now. I get off about 1800 hours." She lets go of Tim's arm reluctantly,
then suddenly grins again. "Oh yeah! I remember now!" She dashes off to a
cabinet and retrieves a stack of paper. Looks like ... stickers? 
[22:58] <Chamelaeon> "I've been saving these! I was gonna mail 'em, but I didn't
know where you were, so I figured I'd just save 'em! They're for your suit!"
[22:58] * Charlie shakes his head again. "So, where's the barracks?"
[22:59] * Isis points in the general direction of the barracks. "THat way. If
Bennetson is really still working here, though, watch yourself."
[22:59] <Chamelaeon> The man shouts again. "B.! FUCKING FUCK!"
[23:00] * Chako shakes hear head at Tim, and asks, "What does he look like?"
[23:00] * Tim accepts the stickers. "Wh... why, thank you." He looks like he's
about to happycry. Such a wonderful gift!
[23:01] <Chamelaeon> Bethany frowns again. "I REALLY gotta go. But I'll take
extra good care of your suits, kay?" She dashes off into the toolroom.
[23:01] * Isis looks at Tim like he sprouted a tail. "Walking scar tissue,
basically. Very stereotypical drill sergeant."
[23:02] * Tim waves with the hand that isn't holding the stickers. "Uhm, bye."
[23:03] * Charlie turns to Chako "You want 407 or 409, cap'n?"
[23:03] * Tim frowns, then quirks a smile and nods to himself.
[23:03] * Chako nods, and says, "Who cares? We'll just say 407."
[23:04] <Charlie> a'ight.
[23:04] * Charlie hoists his bag. "I'm headed for my room.." and leaves the
Mechanical room.
[23:05] * Tim shrugs and follows out, looking thoughtful.
[23:05] <Chamelaeon> <<A quick poke at the guide system shows the way to the
barracks.>>
[23:06] <Illyana> Kommander, shall ve check our room as vell?
[23:06] * Isis sighs. "I'll come with you for now. I... don't feel like going
home, for some reason. Not just yet, anyway."
[23:06] * Chako shakes her head, and says to herself, "Tim so had her. That boy
needs help." She snaps her head up and nods. "Might as well. At least to know
where to crash."
[23:08] <Tim> ( Yeah. Isn't he just sad? )
[23:08] * Chako walks. "Look out. Might run into some walking scar tissue."
[23:09] * Illyana wheels herself along after Chako.
[23:09] * Isis shrugs. "Marco is tough, but he's an idiot. And I have rank. He
won't try anything overt."
[23:10] <Chamelaeon> <<The trip is boring. All these hallways look the same,
hey? But like some sort of funky plot twist, a man with a face like a manhole
and a body like a steam boiler except UGLIER is leaning on the wall between
rooms 407 and 409. He's dressed in ATC livery, with a Trainer badge on the
side.>>
[23:12] <Chamelaeon> "Well, well, well. If it isn't dear Isis and her friends."
[23:12] * Isis raises an eyebrow. "Did you spend all day thinking of that one?"
[23:13] <Chamelaeon> "Naw. I been too busy training recruits. You know, what
you're supposed to be doing instead of getting lost or whatever."
[23:13] <Chamelaeon> (My apologies - you all run into Mr. Asshat at about the
same time.)
[23:14] * Tim blinks.
[23:15] <Tim> ( *looks around* "We're lost?" "..." )
[23:15] * Charlie avoids saying anything for now.
[23:16] * Chako scans the man, and sneers slightly.
[23:16] * Isis sighs and rubs her temples. "What is it you want, exactly?"
[23:17] <Chamelaeon> "Just ta welcome you back, girl. And ta let ya know that I
know just how bad you fucked up. And it makes me damn happy." He grins,
revealing teeth that ... well, just EW.
[23:18] * Tim frowns.
[23:20] * Isis sighs and shuts her eyes, leaning her sword on her shoulder.
"They called you all the way back from Jupiter for that?"
[23:22] <Chamelaeon> "They called me back cause they know I'm better. The
Jupiter thing's just an excuse - they wanted me back all along." He grins again
and stands straight. "I hear they got you pulling training again. Ya know that
means you're under me when workin', yeah?"
[23:22] * Isis grins faintly but doesn't open her eyes. "I'll try not to
humiliate you too badly in practicals, then."
[23:24] <Isis> At least the *other* characters see how insane this is.
[23:24] <Chako> (Um?)
[23:24] <Isis> ( Ha! Wrong channel. )

[23:25] <Chamelaeon> Marco snarls and sputters. You can almost hear the cogs
working. "Just.. just don't get lost or something in the training room." He
stalks off the other way.
[23:25] <Isis> ( I can see how the wording would make the context a little
different here. )
[23:26] * Chako sneers at his retreating back, and says, "I can't think of
anything that'd be under him, unless it was dead."
[23:27] * Isis opens her eyes and her unflustered demeanor cracks a bit. She's
not *hurt*, but... she's visibly unhappy. "He's going to be trouble. I replaced
him here... and was much more well-liked."
[23:27] <Chako> Only gonna be a day. He stays away from me, he might keep what's
left of his face. Damn co--mission.
[23:28] <Charlie> Great guy.. *he goes into his room to put his stuff down*
[23:28] * Chako presses her hand against the handprint thing hard, and looks
into the room.
[23:28] * Illyana snaps out of her daze and peers into the room.
[23:30] * Tim shrugs and wanders into one of the assigned rooms at random,
clearly not actually thinking about the matter. Surprise.
[23:30] <Chamelaeon> <<The rooms are sparse. Two beds are bolted into the wall,
which are little more than metal slabs with a slight pad on them. There's two
chairs, a table, and two footlockers. The rooms also have one other door each,
which is open and shows that there is a bathroom interconnecting the two
rooms.>>

[23:31] * Tim frowns, shrugs, and sets his pack down, testing the bed to see
just how uncomfortable it's gonna be.
